WE HELP PEOPLE WALK THE TALK, EMBODY THEIR VALUES TO ENJOY A MEANINGFUL LIFE WITH FAR LESS STRESS. They underpin a meaningful, fulfilling life. But Self knowledge is the foundation of all there is to life. Here's why we focus on relationships: we've proven the better the relationships, the better the results. Specifically, I led and co-authored the world's first research to quantify the link among
Sunday morning meditation
Perhaps mountains are here to teach us, among many other things, that we are part of a beautiful whole.
And to take great care for that whole we are a part of: the whole within and outside of us all.
The mountain exists within us, obscured only by unconscious patterns. Like clouds enveloping a mountain.
The study and practice of Self knowledge-to know what it means to be fully human-dissolves those tenacious, limiting clouds.
Start anytime by wondering about the whole you.

The real climb
Perspective changes everything
Chamonix: 1000 m below this summit called “Brevant.”
To be painfully obvious, one’s observations change depending on where we are on the mountain. They also change when we understand we are composed of matter and consciousness (mind/body/spirit).
This is not mystical woo-woo; it is the science of consciousness, articulated n ancient wisdom. (And perhaps awkwardly articulated by me here!)
The image prompts a recent memory from the “earth rise” pictures taken by the NASA manned mission around the moon.
A tiny object upon which to live, survive and, if carefully nurtured, thrive. We are part of a much bigger whole-and interdependent.
Yet thoughts, feelings, opinions, judgments, childhood conditioning and more all can limit our capacity to see and enjoy it all.
Self knowledge-to know what it means to be fully human-reveals the whole by dissolving that those impediments to see clearly and be all of who we really are.
If inspired, you may enjoy what you realize when climbing the mountains within and without.
It sure helps understand purpose, meaning, fulfillment and much more in life.

The real climb
This is a familiar story to all in any aspect of life. it is a reminder that more-even far more-exists within each of us.
A few hundred metres below I almost quit my training run. I thought I could not run up the mountain anymore. Not a crime if that happened, but it would be a setback and erosion in confidence. The event I train for demands many ascents and descents of varying heights. This one is over 1000 metres.
The mind, rooted in old patterns and conditioning, will always want an easier way forward-or out.
The subtle intellect, which knows the wily ways of the mind as well as the reality of what it means to be fully human, reminds that more exists even when thoughts and feelings declare enough.
Some say we have up to 40 percent more capacity in our bodies to continue after the mind starts complaining.
This post is not about a run up and down a mountain: it is instead an invitation to explore and unleash that additional capacity.
The study and practice of self knowledge dissolves the limits that early childhood conditioning “installed.”
We all are worth far more than we know.
This picture captures the successful ascent, 2000 metres above Chamonix. A deeply moving moment. Lots of learning here. Humility too.
Unleash all. The world needs our light.

Pre-mountain run enthusiasm
Overcoming inertia
Inertia is one of the challenges we all face.
I am about to launch into a long run up the sublime mountain trails above Chamonix, France.
However, protests are erupting: the mind votes no. The body follows, slouching forward.
But another power exists within us to acknowledge, meet and transcend these objections. The subtle intellect is a power to steer us onto far more conscious, constructive and contributive directions.
So when stuck, inert or captured by some emotion or limiting pattern I see it and then ask for guidance. The intellect guides the mind much like reins guide the horse.
The reins in this case are the values, rules, laws of how this all works-how we work. Sourced in ancient wisdom, it the subtle intellect lifts us up from inertia to inspired action.
For example, my running is spiritual practice, a means to explore the physical, emotional, mental, intellectual and spiritual.
It is also a proven path to ensure good health - especially mental health. Depression has been a frequent inhabitant that tends to lessen through running (please note: there is more to healing depression than running, but this is certainly a cornerstone).
I am lucky, too. A little boy within still cries in wonder about the beauty of the world and its inhabitants. When running on trails and mountains that curious boy squeals in delight, wondering what is around the corner, or up the mountain, or just the step ahead.
Sometimes it’s OK to remain still, quiet, because it may be all our parts require rest. Don’t judge that (you’ll be tempted to-another harmful, limiting pattern to dissolve through the study and practice of self knowledge).
It’s all good, valid, and pieces of the magnificent puzzle of what makes us fully human.
Which is the essence of my purpose.
