VM ID
After more than 14 years of industry experience with various retailers and environments such as Holt Renfrew and Adidas Group Canada, VM ID was founded by Ani Nersessian in 2017 to help retailers get set-up with a VM culture that is right for them. Ani’s hands-on experience, corporate VM direction and training, and university instruction experience are all a part of VM ID’s DNA. Ani holds a Bachel
If you were curious about the store featured alongside our recent piece in Magazine, it was Wick’ed Fragrance House ✨
A little flashback to this one, as it was a full new store opening.
We first met Ela during a consultation for the One of a Kind Show, and she later reached out when she was ready to bring her business into a brick-and-mortar space.
We supported the project from early planning through to final set-up, from how the space flows, to how the product lives within it, to having our team on-site to bring it all together.
It’s always a different feeling when a space comes together exactly as it was intended. Calm, clear, and easy to move through, while still reflecting the brand.
Still one we love looking back on 🤍

Sometimes it’s not the product… it’s how the space is working around it.
We recently supported a client through a Space Audit in Quebec, and after a few changes, they started seeing increased traffic, more curiosity, and stronger engagement from both new and returning customers. No big reno, no major spend.
Just a clearer understanding of what was working, and what could be better.
This is something we see often. Great product, strong brand, but the space hasn’t quite kept up, and it shows in how customers move, browse, and buy.
That’s exactly what our Space Audits are here for. A fresh set of eyes, clear direction, and practical steps you can actually implement.
Some take it and run with it internally. Others bring us in to help execute. Either way, the goal is the same: make your space work harder for you.

It may still feel like ❄️winter outside, but retailers know the truth: the calendar has already moved on to spring.🌿
This is the time many shop owners start thinking about refreshing their storefront, even if the weather hasn’t quite caught up yet.
But coming up with a new window display from scratch takes time. Between running the shop, managing inventory, and helping customers, it’s rarely the top priority.
That’s exactly why we created this DIY Spring Window Display Guide.
It’s designed to help retailers quickly plan a fresh seasonal window without the trial and error, using greenery and crystal elements that reflect light beautifully and draw attention from the street.
Inside the downloadable guide you’ll find:
• A clear display layout
• Supplier links for sourcing materials
• Simple installation notes
Everything is structured the way a visual merchandising professional would approach it, focusing on showcasing your product, refreshing the storefront for the season, and creating a window that encourages people passing by to step inside.
If you’ve been meaning to update your window but haven’t had time to figure out the concept, this guide was created to make the process much easier.

As we settle into the new year, it’s a good time to share a few recent store openings that came together just in time for customers to walk in and shop.
This is the new Decorator’s Choice location in Ottawa. The retail design was led by , and our team was brought in to support the visual merchandising strategy and on-floor ex*****on.
Our role focused on translating the design concept into a functional, customer-ready selling environment. That meant developing the merchandising approach, defining product groupings and flow, and executing the displays so the space felt clear, intuitive, and fully operational from day one.
Projects like this highlight how retail design and visual merchandising work best together, especially during new store openings, when the space needs to look resolved and perform immediately.
