Celebrating The Kiki Ballroom Alliance (TKBA) TKBA and the incredible community they’ve built over the last 15 years.🏳️🌈💛
Founded in 2010 by Icon Twysted Miyake-Mugler and Legendary Mother Vixen 007, TKBA has become a cornerstone of Canada’s Ballroom scene. Through balls, workshops, mentorship, and advocacy, they’ve created spaces where racialized LGBTQIA+ youth can findconnection, express themselves freely, and access support while addressing issues like homelessness, food insecurity, mental health, discrimination, and HIV/AIDS awareness.
Ballroom has always been rooted in resistance, resilience, and chosenfamily and TKBA continues that legacy by empowering people to takeup space exactly as they are.✨
While June is a special time to celebrate Pride, Toronto Arts celebrates and uplifts q***r artists, organizers, and communities allyear long. Thank you, TKBA, for showing us the power of joy, advocacy, self-expression, and community care. 🏳️🌈✨

🌈 Happy Pride Month from Toronto Arts! 🌈
Throughout June, we’ll be shining the spotlight on 2SLGBTQIA+ artistsand arts organizations whose work inspires connection, sparksimportant conversations, and reminds us of the power of art as a toolfor joy, resistance, and change.
For many Pride is a celebration, but it began as a protest. With deeproots in advocacy and the pursuit of equity, Pride is not justan opportunity to recognize and applaud the ongoing work ofq***r communities, but it’s also a powerful reminder of what still needsto be done to ensure that our city is one where everyone feels free tolive their lives fiercely, authentically, and safely.
Happy Pride, Toronto. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
