Sometimes that is helpful and constructive. It can also be obstructive and downright bureaucratic. We need to remember what process is for, who it is designed to serve and how it is supposed to work. We also need to recognize when it needs to fade into the background and away from sight.

Despite that assertion, we continue to believe that leaders are born. Or at least, that they are made. Elite schools and universities promote their ability to instill leadership qualities. We believe that leadership authority is a product of our position on the org chart. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, leadership is all an act.
