Real Estate Director - Immediate opening at a Reputable Retail Chain Corporation

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President Development, the Director of Real Estate Development is responsible for leading the leasing, renewal and new store development plan. Responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with franchisees, external real estate consultants, developers, brokers and potential site partners, including other food service operators and other retailers.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• College/university degree in a related field or related experience
• 5 - 10 years in a Real Estate Tenant role
• Extensive experience in retail leasing, negotiation, and creation & presentation of approval packages.
• Knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape
• Experience in leasing in both the mall and high street environments.
• Experience assessing the operational effectiveness of contractors
• Proven track record of developing maintaining relationships in the Landlord/Development community
• Experience analyzing and interpreting trade area and demographic information
• Strong knowledge of leases and preparation and presentation of offers to lease.
• Experience working in a franchise retail environment.
• Experience leading, navigating and producing results with urgency in a fast paced, high growth changing environment
• Track record of developing, communicating and improving processes and cross functional collaboration
