The Claim alleges that NuvaRing causes numerous health risks, including the risk of blood clots, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke, and heart attack. The Claim also alleges that NuvaRing releases hormones in greater amounts than represented, thereby increasing the health risks associated with the use of NuvaRing. The Claim alleges that the Defendants knew of the health risks associated with the use of NuvaRing but failed to warn Health Canada, doctors and patients of those risks. The Claim seeks damages on behalf of all persons in Canada who were prescribed and who used NuvaRing and their family members. Kim Spencer McPhee will bring a motion for the certification of this action as a class proceeding. The date of the certification motion will be posted once it is set by the Court.
