This was truly exceptional... Henry of Pelham 2020 Speck Family Reserve, Cab-Merlot. I've heard so much talk that Ontario wines are too pricey. I'd flip that argument and say that most regions around the world are increasing in price far faster. This was $48 and not only did it remind me a bit of a very solid Bordeaux, but I think you'd have a very hard time finding a Bordeaux in your local LCBO in this price range that can compete with this HoP beauty. Stunning!

On a less positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed this cab-merlot with a braised beef cheek from , which has since closed their doors for good. KSP was easily the best butcher in St. Catharines and they were adamant about carrying high-quality Ontario meats. To boot, Greg and Maeg were as knowledgeable and pleasant as they come. Yet, we couldn't support them adequately enough to sustain their business let alone grow it. Any time a population can support a local business that exclusively supports other local businesses, we're failing ourselves.
