Ingredient Spotlight: Lavender

Babes dem! It’s been a long time since we’ve done an ingredient spotlight & today we’ll be covering one of our faves: Lavender!

Lavender is a gentle, calming and strong herb with so many uses. Whether added to your tea, lemonade or satchel to place under your pillow for better sleep, Lavender shows up and shows out. Lavender is great for pregnant parents and their littles. Lavender in a diffuser or a lavender sprayed on bedding is an amazing sleep aid. It can be used externally and ingested in moderation (plz do not feed lavender to babies/toddlers). Spiritually speaking, lavender’s energies focus on love, protection, peace and purification. Lavender smudges gently cleanse the energy in your space while calling in peace and positivity. We love lavender over here!! It’s a necessity as a doula to provide trauma informed care. The TIC method is at the root of my framework as a doula & healer. When we’ve experienced trauma, our bodies and minds can react to or reject many different things. Any caregiver and support person should always keep that in mind. TIC is tailored to you. Whatever care or healing methods used should always follow the current of where the client is mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Scorpio Season begins tomorrow babes dem! It’s the most wonderful time of the year 😈🦂🖤 you already know Scorpio represents intensity, rebirth, sexuality and all of the feels. Shout out to all the spooky baes! Tonight at 2:49am est Mercury enters Scorpio making a conjunction (close contact & unique blend of energies) with the Sun. This type of transit brings sharp thinking, alertness & adaptability. & with this happening under Scorpio in the 12th house (the subconscious)? Babyyyy, prepare for deep, probing conversations. Things left unsaid will be felt & known. Mercury being in the 1st house (the self) feels like we could share intimate things about ourselves in conversation without even realizing. That “why did I say that energy”. Let your intuition guide because if you’re paying attention much will be revealed. Beware of those who are trying to control the narrative (even if it’s you🙃). This might be bad PR for Scorpio’s but issues with control & power dynamics are a normal Tuesday in the Scorp world. Arm yourself with knowledge. Trust yourself and your intuition. Never move in fear. Speak your truth & let the chips fall where they may.
