Teaching children Islamic manners should be done with gentleness and patience, setting ourselves as role models for them to emulate. After all, actions speak louder than words.

So, let's highlight some important Sunnahs and traditions of dining that can be explained to children as follows:

✔️ Saying 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah) at the beginning of the meal, eating with the right hand, and eating what is directly in front of you.
✔️ Sitting while eating.
✔️ If a morsel of food falls, pick off any dirt and eat it.
✔️ Thanking Allah after finishing the meal or drink.
✔️ Being satisfied with what is found in the house for food without criticizing.
✔️ Avoiding overeating.

You can repeat these etiquettes for your child daily during meals until they memorize them. You can also explain them during a fun activity, like coloring instructional cards with pictures to help them understand.
