Change the way you look at things… and things will change

The following was a heart-warming message from my youngest client who signed up with me shortly after suffering disappointment in Matric results and college fees and an abusive relationship. We worked together initially through an eight week leadership course. After that course she pursued me and asked for help. Even though she was in a college, she took a bold decision to attend evening classes to improve her marks. I helped her start a small business for a little income and hope. We spoke bi-weekly for almost two years! She impressed me so much with her zest for life, courage and faith. She did go to college after repeating grade 12 and stood out as a leader on campus serving on the Student Council. I couldn’t believe the things this girl did!! When we first met she wanted to be in the health sector, but when we worked on her business plan it soon became evident that she was a natural at finance/accounting part of the business! I encouraged her to invest in that strength. My heart exploded with joy when I recently received this update below from her!

“Hi mom, I hope you are well❤
I wanted to let you know that I finally found an internship.

I will be working at Department of Education (District office) at the financial department.

So now I will be moving away from home to stay closer.

Wanted to tell you first day when I signed the contract but I was too stressed and panicking at the same time, I cried. I am officially starting on Monday to work.

I always keep on reflecting if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be here and after this I will graduate.”
