Happy Friday! 🤗We are excited that our latest journal cover design has been published In Nature Biomedical Engineering! 🎉🎉Working with the amazing research teams from MIT and Harvard, we produced both the accompanying illustrations for the article and the cover. The research features a implantable, soft-tissue robotic sleeve that recapitulates aortic stenosis. As medical illustrators, we often turn to our local grocery store for anatomy texture references. Some are really unexpected finds! When we look at textures, we break them down into individual properties such as colour, shape, reflectance, etc. We call these "visual analogies👀".
