DIY Faux Rustic Beam ✨ Entryway Makeover!
I got BIG and EXPENSIVE entryway updates… What we thought was ice damning causing leaks in our walls, was actually a roof that needed replacing.🤦♀️ What an unwelcome, expensive surprise.
At this point in the entryway makeover, I was in full damage control. I knew there was no immediate fix to the roof problem, so I tackled the crooked beam and transom frame. I love how the faux rustic beam turned out, it’s added so much warmth to the entryway but the finishing details will have to wait.
I excited to eventually add stained glass into the transom. 💜
The work in this entryway is sadly being put on pause, but don’t worry…I’ll be back to working on it once my roof woes are resolved. Stay tuned! ❤️
Not all home renovations go to plan… 🤦♀️
Welcome back to my entryway makeover series where I tackle my front entry with some serious DIY elbow grease.
I knew opening up this closet was a bold move, but I needed to reclaim every inch of space I could get in this small entryway. ✨
Everything was going smoothly until it wasn’t.
The second I opened things up I found damp wood… And that’s when I realized - this wasn’t a new problem. Water has slowly been wicking into my home for years 😳
After a bit of investigating, I’m fairly certain we’re dealing with an ice dam issue so I installed deicing cables as a first step to stop things from getting worse.
But now I’m wondering… Is this actually the problem… or is this just the beginning? 👀
