Jagmeet Singh, I want to take a moment to thank you, not just for your leadership over these past eight years, but for the heart and humanity you brought to every step of the journey. Politics is relentless and often unforgiving but you faced it with fierce determination and unwavering kindness. You didn’t just fight for Canadians; you delivered for them. You expanded healthcare for the first time in a generation and stood tall for workers. You made people feel seen, heard, and valued.

All of this came at a cost, time away from your young family, and the personal toll that leadership demands. And yet, you never wavered. You led with purpose and compassion, reminding us that politics can still be a force for good.

From our first meeting to the last rally we shared, you inspired me. Wherever your path leads next, know that you’ll always be welcome in Toronto–Danforth, a community that believes, as you do, in the power of people to build a better world.

Thank you to everyone who supported me over the last two years! I'm so proud of our campaign and the work of New Democrats across Toronto-Danforth and Canada. Congratulations to Julie Dabrusin on her win.

We face so many challenges in our world, from inequality to the climate crisis to wars around the world. These challenges persist regardless of the election outcome, so our work continues. Progress is often slow and frustrating, but together, I'm confident we can create a more just, hopeful, and peaceful world. Let us rest today; tomorrow is another day.
