With a background in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and over 30 years of experience running a piano studio, her life has always centered around teaching, nurturing, and creativity.

Alan is a passionate mountaineer who channels over 30 years of climbing experience into his deeply reflective memoir in verse, โReflections on Mountaineering: A Journey Through Life as Experienced in the Mountains.โ A graduate of Horace Mann School, Harvard College, and Harvard Law School, he was also elected to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society in 1979, a testament to the same discipline and dedication that drives him up every summit.
In a collection of 148 narrative-style poems spanning rhyming, prose, and blank verse, his fifth edition masterwork captures the full spectrum of human emotion โ awe, fear, fate, self-discovery, and the quiet wisdom found only at altitude. Born from three decades of climbing and learning from fellow mountaineers, these poems draw powerful parallels between life on the mountain and life as we all live it, making them as universal as they are extraordinary.

The Maple Staple rolled into the London Book Fair 2026 at Olympia London, March 10โ12, and truth be told, we left a piece of our story-obsessed hearts at Stand ! Conversations with more heart than a trilogy, laughs louder than a total curveball, and book lovers who made every second feel like a masterpiece in the making.
Our booth was an atmosphere, a total presence, a rendezvous point for every inquisitive spirit that walked through those shelves! Three days, endless stories, and bonds even the sturdiest page-marker would struggle to contain. THIS is why The Maple Staple exists, because books are more than paper and ink, they are people, they are moments, they are absolute wonder.
