As I trained dancer and yoga instructor, I am used to striving to perfect the aesthetics of a posture or movement.
I am familiar with the practice of imitating ideals of postures.
This is what you see in the TOP IMAGE.
I have achieved what some might consider a beautiful downward dog:
Straight spine, straight legs, straight arms.
However after my recovery from a spinal dislocation and learning to live with hyper-lax ligaments and sensitive joints I have learned that working with the BIO-MECHANICS of my body is a different movement paradigm.
This is what you see in the BOTTOM IMAGE
In this pose, I am balancing the engagement of my back and abdominals
I am supported my wrists and elbows through muscular synergy
I am maintaining a healthy Spinal Curvature which supports fuller BREATH and healthy CIRCULATION of energy.
In the TOP image, I am sinking and PUSHING myself into the ground and into the depth of my mobility.
In the BOTTOM image, I am holding myself in BALANCE, with Strength + Whole Body Coordination.
Which one do you prefer and why?
I would love to hear your thoughts and reactions.
With Kindness and Respect
Danielle

Joyful Greetings Movers & Dreamers🤸
Having walked my own path from feeling invincible in my body, to feeling broken, feeling beautiful to scarred, feeling capable to incompetent, feeling free to bound....
I understand that it can sometimes feel that our dreams of MOVEMENT, ADVENTURE, FROLIC, JOY and RESILIENCE....are worlds and lifetimes away.
What an honour to be sharing with you now that I am Living my Movement Freedom once again. I still carry my scars, my insecurities and sometimes I have tough days....BUT, I no longer feel disempowered, uncertain, hopeless or afraid.🙌
Not because of some magical extract, nor some technological wonder device...but because of learning a different way of working with my body, of accompanying myself each step of each day - learning the practice of dancing my body towards greater strength, agility, mobility, resilience and coordination.
Next Saturday December 4th at 5pm/17h EST, I will be sharing with you the 4 Step Approach that has emerged from thriving through 10 years of chronic pain and spinal injury towards a daily lifestyle that helps me:
- Break Free from the Cycle of Injury, Pain and Inflammation
- Cultivate my Strength, Resilience and Mobility Every Day without weights, going to the gym or using special equipment
- Nourish my Mind, Body and Heart for Lasting Recovery
- Reclaim my Trust and Feeling of Being at Home in my Body.
I Welcome you to Come as You Are, with your questions, hopes, skepticism, fears and dreams to reclaim your Active Lifestyle and awaken the Vitality that is Alive in You.

The leaves are falling in their spiral dance with the wind while the sun shines with exquisite beauty....it looks like laughter and feels like a symphony of harmonious artistic expression.
This autumnal experience reminded me of a photo shoot I did with the wise and remarkable a few years ago in La Belle Ville.
This image expresses my joy in moving with deep sensitivity and attunement to the many many voices of my body instrument. Taking time to infuse each moment with generous curiosity, serious play, wonderment and presence brings a rich sensual satisfaction to every delicious moment of expression - even the falls!
I hope you choose to invest in a moment of frolic and sensual delight with your body today - whether it involves an exuberant run in a field, a peaceful walk in a park, a secret path through the forest, a moment with the sun kissing your face, the rain pattering your feet, a nap with a tree, a day dream with the clouds...and and and....oh how I love the body and its miraculous senses.
Whose says "training" can't be a love affair I curate with my body, breath, mind and heart ?
