What does ageing mean these days? We kick off Season 2 with a fantastic episode with the wonderful Alex Rotas, who photographs athletes very late in life, some still competing in their 90’s! As she says on her website: “Hi, I’m Alex. I hope that my images remind us all of what’s possible as we age and force us to think again about our attitudes towards ageing.” It started when Alex was looking for older athletes online and found……nothing. She decided that she was going to start documenting these competitive men and women, bought a camera in 2011 and has never looked back. She has co-created a documentary film called “Younger” This documentary follows four women in their 60s, 70s and 80s as they train and compete in national and international athletics competitions. For all of them, training and competing in masters’ athletics is about being part of a supportive community, achieving personal goals, and living a purposeful life full of adventures and fun. In doing so, these women show an energy, joyful determination, and fulfilment in older age, that offers a powerful antidote to lazy stereotypes around ageing. Watch the trailer here:

No matter how many fillers, surgeries or other things some do to postpone the inevitable, we all of course will age but it does not have to define what we are capable of. I would love to live in a world where we stop hiding and start celebrating our wrinkles. It’s a privilege to age.

We've finally finished up Season 1 and the last episodes have been released. Episode 10 is with my good friends Peter Goes and Michelle Harvey. They are rad for so many reasons. They are the most hospitable and genuine people you will ever meet. They run a very successful consulting company in Australia, and have mastered "work/life integration" which we talk about in this episode. They had a big influence on my consulting career and are fantastically rad people to have as friends.
