Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced new rules that are coming for prospective international students that increase the amount of money needed to study in Canada.

In 2024, a single applicant will be required to demonstrate financial readiness by showing $20,635, in addition to covering their first-year tuition and travel costs. This adjustment will apply to new study permit applications received on or after January 1, 2024.
