We answer prisoners’ letters and respond to their requests about various topics. We strive to learn from prisoners themselves through their letters, about the conditions of prison life, and the systemic issues they face. We use this information to raise awareness about these issues, and to advocate for a criminal justice system where people will be treated with dignity and humanity.

If there’s one aspect of Write On! that’s essential (besides our volunteers of course) it’s having a functional PO BOX. We are so grateful to the CFSC for securing this integral part of our services for another two years! It’s because of people like them that we can accomplish our goals and make a difference 🥰

Today, Canadians remember the painful legacy of residential schools and the ongoing struggles faced by Indigenous communities.
At Write On, we believe true reconciliation extends to all aspects of our society, including the rights and conditions of indigenous persons in prison. Many Indigenous individuals are overrepresented in our prison systems, and their experiences often reflect broader systemic issues.
