At 26, I was devastated when I didn't get the promotion I had worked so hard for. I had poured all my energy into that job and couldn't understand why I wasn't chosen. I went to the HR leader, hoping to get some feedback, but what she told me was so ridiculous and gender-biased that it left me speechless.

But I wasn't going to let this setback stop me. I was determined to prove everyone wrong. I worked long hours and pushed myself to exhaustion, hoping to show everyone I deserved that promotion. But the harder I worked, the more burnt out I became, and I started losing sight of the things that were really important to me.

That's when my dad stepped in with some advice that changed everything. "You only have 24 hours in a day," he said. "You can spend that time trying to prove yourself to others, or you can focus on doing your job to the best of your ability. Let your work speak for itself."
His words struck a chord in me, and I realized I had been too focused on impressing others instead of my own performance.

Years later, I have built my tribe at DLT Labs, leading a team of talented individuals who inspire and encourage me to be the best version of myself. And I encourage others to do the same.

So to all the women out there, remember that setbacks and obstacles are inevitable, but they don't define you. Use your 24 hours wisely, surround yourself with people who support and inspire you, and build your tribe. Because, in the end, that's all that really matters.
