During the next 12 years, the Cloverdale Reporter, like the historic Clover Valley, grew in size and popularity. Black Press Group Inc. purchased the Cloverdale Reporter in March 2008, retaining both the Reporter's dedicated community focus, and Ursula Maxwell-Lewis as managing editor. She retired in 2009. Today, the Cloverdale Reporter is published weekly, on Wednesdays, and has a circulation of

“I was the only Asian kid in the school, and it wasn’t always an easy experience,” he said. “People would hit me; they would call me names. No one cared, no one did anything. I didn’t do anything. It was a time where I went to school angry almost every single day. Maybe to process that and maybe for cathartic reasons, I wrote a short, I called it, My Name is Arnold.”
