Celebrating Our 5th Annual Rotary Book Day!
We held our 5th annual Rotary Book Day today. This year, thanks to the generosity of our the Summerside Rotary Club and community partners, 1,428 books were gifted to students in 8 schools across Prince County, helping foster a love of reading that will continue throughout the summer.
A huge thank you to our Literacy Team Lead, Lauren Key, whose dedication and organization make this event possible year after year. We are also grateful to our literacy teacher advisors, Mrs. Silliker l, Mrs.Johnston, and Mrs. Langille, for their hard work and commitment to promoting literacy in our school.
Special thanks to Kelly Boyd for her unwavering support of this initiative from the very beginning. Your encouragement and belief in the importance of literacy have helped this event grow over the past five years.
Thank you to Mrs. Carrie MacLellan and her rock band for providing fantastic music at our assembly, and to Ms. Harvey for doing a wonderful job as our MC.
We would also like to recognize our principal, Mr. Doug Doyle, whose support of Rotary Book Day over the past five years has helped make it
such a meaningful tradition at SIS.
