What is the most important question to ask a potential payroll provider? (Hint: think "security"!)
As payroll providers ourselves, we'd suggest that question is, "Are you SOC2, Type II certified?"
Here's why: SOC2 Type II is an internationally recognized standard that ensures the most stringent security protocols are in place to PROTECT PERSONAL DATA (i.e. any information that identifies an individual) that resides in the payroll software. This typically includes each employee's name, address, telephone number, birth date, social insurance number, e-mail address, employment information, and more.
So if the answer you get the that question is "NO", you may want to look elsewhere! (Oh, just for the record, our answer is "YES!" WorkLinks is SOC2 Type II certified - and darn proud of it!)
