I call it communication.

One of the ways Spirit often reaches us is through music. Not just a random song coming on the radio, but a song whose lyrics seem to speak directly to what you are facing that day.

Since a dear friend of mine passed, an artist he loved and played a lot before he passed sexy has been showing up every day. Different songs. Different lyrics. Different messages. Yet every morning, when I get into the car, there it is again the same artist is playing right at the start of a song

What is fascinating is that the lyrics always seem to match what I am about to face that day.

Sometimes the song is about strength when I am about to face a difficult task.

Sometimes it is about patience when I need to slow down.

Sometimes it is about letting go when I am holding on too tightly.

Sometimes it is about trust when I am worried about what comes next.

The message isn’t always obvious at first, but by the end of the day, I often understand exactly why that particular song appeared.

It’s as though Spirit is saying, “Here’s what you need to know today. Here’s what to expect. Here’s how to handle it. And by the way, you’re not doing it alone.”

I believe our loved ones can use music, radios, electronics, butterflies, dragonflies, feathers, dreams, and countless other ways to remind us that they are still near.

The next time a song catches your attention, don’t just listen to the melody.

Listen to the words.

You may discover that the message isn’t in the music itself.

The message was meant for you.
