"I quite enjoyed this 'woke up in a book' fantasy, this is my first Ilona Andrews story so I am not familiar with their writing style. I did not appreciate the cliffhanger at the end with no release date for book 2. I feel like this was a nice 'light' story that wasn't meant to be another LOTR. While searching for info on next book, I came across a critical review. What is it about professional critics that can't find any joy in the thing they're supposed to love? In this case, I am a happy pleb.😁"
