🐭 A note regarding Hantavirus 🐭
We know many of you have questions❓️about the hantavirus situation in the news. We want to try to help put your mind at ease.
The current outbreak is linked to the Andes virus aboard a cruise ship, and the overall risk to the general Canadian public remains low. BC's top health officials have reassured British Columbian's that this is not a disease of pandemic potential, and does not spread the same way as COVID-19. Authorities have the situation well in hand. ✅
A few simple things you can do:
🧼 Wash your hands regularly
🌡️ Monitor yourself for any flu-like symptoms
📱 Stay informed through HealthLink BC (8-1-1) or your local health authority
📞 If you think you've been directly exposed, contact your health authority right away.
