Beautiful Buckskin, brain tan, smoke tan are all the names for this wonderful material!! You can make pants, moccasins, shirts, skirts and pretty much any clothing from it. Breathable, strong, and a slight stretch and not a bit of lycra or polyester to be found. Just a deerskin, some sweat and a bit of smoke. Interested? We are running workshops this Spring. What would you make from your buckskin?

Do you ever think about tanning furs for yourself? A stunning all natural bark tanned Bear. It took around 4 months in total to flesh, degrease, tan, dry and condition. The skins turns to a veg tan consistency and is nice and robust. Depending on the bark used it can dye the fur as well as the leather. For this blonde cinnamon bear i wanted to keep the colour as much as possible. What do you think?

So, I made it my challenge to make it from scratch. SOOOOO Tasty!!! It took me about 4 hours to make sooo much i will be good for 2 years now. Although i am eating it with lots of things now!
Ingredients:
Pork fat, pigs blood, pearl barley, oats, pepper, spices to taste. Stuffed into pigs intestines.

Finished!!!!! The canoe has taken its maiden voyage on Upper Arrow Lake. It floats! It's water tight. I am stoked!! I spins on a sixpence as there is a bigger rocker which will be great for river travel. Maybe less good for inexperienced lake canoeists. I haven't scratched it yet!!!
It was a short trip to wet the hull before disappearing into the mountains for summer wrok. Now where is the first trip going to be?? Any Ideas anyone? Ideally southern BC this summer. Bowron Lakes is next year :-) I can't wait!!!
