For the athlete — when you're actually recovered, the work feels lighter. You react faster. Your timing is on. Explosive power shows up when you call for it. That's not a good day. That's a recovered body.

For the coach — fatigued athletes can't develop what you're trying to build. Speed, power, reaction — these need a fresh nervous system. You can't coach sharpness into a tired athlete.

For the parent — if your kid is dragging through every practice, the answer usually isn't more work. It's more rest.

Heavy every session isn't toughness. It's accumulated fatigue.

Trying it with two balls isn't easy. Love when clients challenge themselves.

This is one of the neuro-movement warm-ups I run in class. Movement for this one is all about how you choose to move — one kinetic chain.

Because boxing isn't just hands. It's how your whole body moves together.
Oh, and don't spill your tea.

DM to try a class — I'll take 50% off your first one. RasTafari and Empress Menen I love to you🥊 💛💚

If your knee is doing the work, you're already losing.

The extension has to come from the hip.
It's the difference between an athlete who's working hard and an athlete who's actually moving fast.

This is one of the drills I use to teach that.

If you want to see how it translates standing up, my last post breaks it down. 🎥 RasTafari and Empress Menen I love to you. 🫶🏿💛💚

A rest day isn't a lost day.

For the athlete who feels like sitting still means falling behind — you don't grow during the session. You grow after it, when the body absorbs the work.

For the coach — program the rest as deliberately as you program the load.

For the parent — a young athlete going hard year-round isn't building more. They're burning out faster.

Training breaks you down. Recovery is where you adapt. Skip it and you're just stacking fatigue.

Rest is part of the work. Treat it that way. Blessed Sunday🙏🏾 RasTafari and Empress Menen I love to you. 🫶🏿🫡💚
