Experts in aerial robotics, the team at DeLeaves has commercialized the first aerial tree sampling tool in 2020, which enables field scientists to reach previously unreachable vegetation samples.

Great news!!
📣HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT🎉: Our team won the Grand Prize in the , a 5-year and $10M competition to develop novel technologies that autonomously and rapidly survey rainforest biodiversity.
During the Finals, Outreach Robotics successfully deployed and retrieved by drone 10 Limelight canopy rafts, collectively including bioacoustics arrays of 90 microphones, 5 autonomous camera systems, 270 LED lights, 10 GPS recorders, 10 inertial measurement units, 10 Iridium satellite communication systems, and 5 air sampling systems along with a water eDNA filtering system and a surface eDNA probe.
This win was *hugely validating* of our ideas, our approach, and the insane amount of work that we and the rest of the team Limelight Rainforest have put into developing these tools.

Next week, XPRIZE will announce the winner of the competition, in conjunction with the G20 summit in Rio! What a wild ride the last few years have been, from our first time flying the into the canopy in Singapore to the successful deployment of all our data streams in Brazil this summer.
