Could your jaw pain be related to TMJD?

TMJD can present differently from person to person, but common symptoms may include jaw pain or tightness, clicking or popping, headaches around the temples, facial tension, difficulty opening the mouth comfortably, and discomfort near the ears or neck.

These symptoms can sometimes be connected to tension or dysfunction in the muscles and joints surrounding the jaw. A TMJD-focused assessment can help identify what may be contributing to your discomfort and determine whether massage therapy is appropriate for your needs.

Experiencing any of these symptoms? Book your TMJD assessment today and take the next step toward improving your jaw comfort and function.

We cant wait to see all the smiling faces again at the tent.

Jaw pain, clicking, popping, headaches, or facial tension can sometimes be connected to tension and dysfunction around the jaw joint and surrounding muscles.

In this video, I’m walking through what TMJD treatment may look like and how massage therapy can help support the muscles involved in jaw movement, tension, and discomfort.

Treatment may include working on areas such as:

The jaw muscles
The face
The neck
The shoulders
Areas of tenderness or muscle tension
Movement patterns that may be contributing to discomfort

TMJD treatment is not one-size-fits-all. The approach depends on your symptoms, comfort level, assessment findings, and goals. For some people, treatment may focus more on jaw tension and facial muscles. For others, the neck, shoulders, and posture-related tension may also play a role.

The goal is to help reduce muscle tension, improve comfort, and support better jaw function over time.

If you have been dealing with jaw pain, headaches, facial tension, or clicking and popping in the jaw, treatment may be a helpful next step after a proper assessment.

Not treatment related- however it is worth sharing.

To say that this is disappointing would be a severe understatement.
My kiddos loved having the snack shack at their soccer games, to learn that we will no longer have it due to someone’s poor choices is heartbreaking šŸ˜”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the temporary closure of the Shelburne Soccer Club Snack Shack.

This was not a decision we wanted to make. Unfortunately, due to a recent theft, we have no choice but to close the snack shack while the situation is being addressed.

An investigation is currently underway. If you have seen anything suspicious or notice anything of concern around the soccer fields, we kindly ask that you please reach out to us. Even the smallest piece of information could be helpful.

The snack shack is more than just a place to grab a treat—it helps support our club, our players, and the experiences we provide for our community. It is incredibly disappointing that this has happened, but we remain hopeful that, with the support of our amazing soccer family, we’ll be able to reopen as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support of Shelburne Soccer Club. šŸ’™āš½

Jaw pain, clicking, popping, headaches, or facial tension can sometimes be connected to how the jaw joint and surrounding muscles are moving and functioning.

In this video, I’m walking through what a TMJ assessment may look like and why it can be helpful for people dealing with TMJD-related symptoms.

Every assessment begins with a detailed health history and intake interview. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your symptoms, how they’ve changed over time, what seems to aggravate or relieve them, and build a better understanding of what you’ve been experiencing.

From there, the assessment may include looking at things like:

• Jaw range of motion
• Jaw opening and closing patterns
• Areas of tenderness
• Muscle tension around the jaw, face, neck, and shoulders
• Clicking, popping, or discomfort with movement• How your symptoms are affecting your day-to-day life

(This list is not limited)

A TMJ assessment isn’t about guessing—it’s about gathering information to better understand how the jaw and surrounding areas are functioning, so treatment can be tailored to your symptoms, comfort level, and goals. Both the assessment and the treatment are designed to be pain-free and to maximize comfort for the patient.

If you’ve been dealing with jaw pain, tension, headaches, facial discomfort, or clicking and popping in the jaw, an assessment may be a helpful first step toward understanding what support could look like.

Jaw pain, clicking, popping, headaches, or facial tension may all be signs that your jaw joint and surrounding muscles need some attention.

TMJD stands for temporomandibular joint dysfunction, which refers to issues involving the jaw joint, the muscles around the jaw, and the way the jaw moves. While many people think of TMJD as ā€œjust jaw pain,ā€ symptoms can sometimes show up in other areas too, including the face, temples, head, and neck.

In this video, I’m using an anatomical skull model to show where the temporomandibular joint is located, how it moves, and why tension or dysfunction in this area can contribute to common symptoms such as:

Jaw pain or tenderness
Clicking or popping in the jaw
Headaches
Facial tension
Difficulty chewing or opening the mouth comfortably

A TMJD assessment can help identify what areas may be contributing to your discomfort and what treatment may look like based on your symptoms, comfort level, and goals.

If you have been dealing with jaw tension, headaches, facial pain, or clicking and popping in the jaw, you are not alone — and support may be available.

✨And this is why I LOVE what I do✨

Celebrating patient wins, big or small (by the way- I don’t believe there is such thing as a ā€˜small’ win), is such a huge part of this work.

Something I always remind my patients: progress isn’t measured only by the big milestones. It’s often found in the little improvements that gradually add up over time

And if you’re currently feeling like you’ve taken a step backward, that’s okay too. Recovery isn’t linear. Flare-ups happen. Challenging weeks happen. It doesn’t mean you’ve failed, and it doesn’t erase the progress you’ve already made.

Every step forward deserves to be celebrated—and every setback is simply part of the process.

A win is a win, and I’ll never stop celebrating them with you. šŸ’™

Happy Father’s Day šŸ’™

Today, we celebrate all of the father figures who show up with love, support, patience, and strength.

To the dads, stepdads, grandpas, father figures, soon-to-be dads, single dads, bonus dads, foster dads, pet dads, and those who fill a fatherly role in someone’s life—today is for you.

And to the moms who are pulling double duty and wearing both
hats—you deserve to be celebrated, too. šŸ’™

Today can look a little different for everyone, so however you’re spending it, I hope it brings you moments of connection, joy, rest, and appreciation.

Happy Father’s Day to all who nurture, support, guide, and love. šŸ’™
