Did you know that in addition to income, debt plays a large roll when qualifying for a mortgage. Essentially the more the debt you have, the less you will qualify for - however it is not a requirement to have all debt paid off before applying for a mortgage.

Credit.

Did you know that credit plays a large roll when applying for a mortgage? As a general rule of thumb, it is recommended to have a minimum of 2 pieces of active credit reporting on your credit bureau for a minimum of 2-years. For best credit practices, it is important to make all minimum monthly payments, not go over limit, not carry high balances and not let things go into collections - or worse. If credit is bruised, things can always be repaired with time and attention to rebuilding properly.
