Story Time

In 2019, a client came over for a service, and our conversation naturally drifted to faith. I asked her, “What’s your salvation story?”

She laughed and said the first time she heard about Jesus was in high school, when a bold classmate shared her faith. They became friends but salvation would come later.

Life moved on. Different universities, different paths, and they lost touch.

At university, she met a group of Christian girls who kept inviting her to church and Christian events. She went out of politeness and curiosity. She enjoyed the fellowship, but still didn’t respond to an altar call. One group graduated or transferred, and she was passed on to another group of believers.

And that group? That was the one.

It was with them that she finally surrendered her life to Christ.

That day, “I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:6) came alive for me.

Many believers struggle with evangelism because we carry the weight of the outcome. But the truth is simple: we can never love God’s people more than He already does.

Even when nothing seems to change, seeds are being planted and hearts are being softened. Our role is to sow and water, God brings the increase.

So be bold. Be consistent. Speak up like that high school girl who planted the first seed and unknowingly set a journey in motion.

Remember, the increase belongs to the Lord, not us.
