Some highlights from our TD Summer Reading Club Launch Party! We loved seeing everyone exploring books and earning their first prize ballots just for chatting with us about reading.

If you missed the party, don't worry! You can sign up for free anytime this summer. Just drop by the library, or register at the library van if you see us around town.

Once you're signed up, simply tell us about what you're reading to enter our weekly prize draws. It doesn't even have to be a library book, though we're always happy to help you find your next great read! 📚🎉🚌✨

Update: Joe Thornton Community Centre will be open as a cooling station on Canada Day, Wednesday July 1, from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Southwestern Public Health has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for our area. 🌡️

If you're looking for a place to cool off, the Joe Thornton Community Centre is open to the public daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There are plenty of other ways to beat the heat around St. Thomas:
💦 Splash pads at Pinafore Park, Waterworks Park, and 1Password Park are open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
💧 The misting station at Shaw Valley Park is also available daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
🏊 Jaycee's Pool is open for the season with daily public swims.

Remember to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during the hottest parts of the day, and check in on friends, family, and neighbours who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

UPDATE: Canada Day Hours

Please note that the Joe Thornton Community Centre will be open as a cooling centre on Canada Day (July 1) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A reminder that a free public swim is being offered at Jaycees Pool from 1 - 3 p.m.
