At birth, all marine lyretail anthias fishes are born female. In a group of female, if there is no male, the most dominant’s female will change her s*x and become a male. Today, in my 440 gal reef tank, I can witness the s*x change of a female lyretail anthias. In the picture, the orange lyretail is a female. On the second picture, is the beginning of the s*x change. The color of the male should be purple in color.
