Here are a few tips to make sure your home is winter ready!
1. Check and clean your chimney and fireplace to prepare for winter use
2. Check your windows and exterior doors for drafts or damage
3. Replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and fire alarms
4. Yard maintenance (including cleaning gutters, disconnecting hoses etc)
5. Do a roof inspection (check shingles etc… you won’t be want to be repairing any damage up there in the winter months)
6. Stock up on winter supplies (nothing worse than having to run out in a snowstorm)
Making sure your home is winter ready is a quick and affordable way to avoid claims or losses in extreme weather.
It’s also a good idea to have a look at your Home Insurance Policy to make sure you are properly and adequately covered!
