The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA, ) had its semi-annual National Convention and Tradeshow in Toronto on April 19 and 20, 2024. Dr. McKay attended the conference and took in several seminars on chiropractic care and health care in Canada. The conference is well attended by Canadian chiropractors from coast to coast to coast. The keynote speaker was Dr. Alika Fontaine, an anesthesiologist from Alberta. Dr. Fontaine is a Cree physician and a past Canadian Medical President. He spoke about the state of the Canadian Health Care system and the collaboration between all health professions to overcome this dilemma. Dr. McKay, along with his colleague, Dr. Jennifer Ward, from The Pas, Manitoba, represented the Indigenous Chiropractic Caucus (ICC) at the conference in Toronto. The ICC is tasked with lobbying both the Provincial and Federal government to reinstate the uninsured health care benefits to all indigenous individuals in Canada. The ICC also supports Indigenous students at chiropractic schools in Canada and the United States. The ICC aims to increase the number of indigenous students in chiropractic schools.
