An ergonomic chair is no match for the physical reality of a 9-to-5.
In the fight for spinal health, the desk job usually wins by a knockout.
When you are typing or mousing, your scapula are fixed. They don’t move, and they don’t glide. This lack of movement puts your thoracic mobility on the ropes, eventually making even basic backbends feel inaccessible.
Teachers: Know Your Crowd
If you are leading a noon-hour class, stop chasing the influencer highlight reel. Your students don’t need a fancy peak pose that looks good on a feed; they need to de-glue their upper backs. Focus on scapular movement and thoracic extension rather than teaching for the camera. Mobility is the real win.
Question for the Teachers:
How do you balance "giving the students what they want" (the fancy poses) with "giving them what they need" (the mobility work) during a short mid-day session? Do you find your students are receptive to skipping the "influencer" poses in favor of functional movement?

I don't believe when people tell me they don't like yoga. It was just the wrong yoga for the moment.
Your mind is always speaking
Are you listening?
If your mind is loud you may need practices that soften and encourage quiet reflection.
If your mind is bored you need practices that spark curiousity and enliven the spirit.
If your mind is scattered you may need practices that align and focus.
If your mind is drained you need practices that revitalize and restore.
If your mind is balanced you don't need anything. Soak up that moment.
