It was a pleasure to be a part of the Songwriter’s Association of Canada & S.C.M.A. Igniter Songwriting Camp.

I was paired up with my new friends, Kateryna Grace and her brother Marko. We wrote 3 songs over a 3 day period at the end of March.
Gotta say, amazing job from everyone involved! Nice to challenge ourselves the way we did in the pressure cooker of the project. It felt great to switch gears for a few hours each day and completely focus and engage in the creative process. Kudos to all of the producers/songwriters and artists involved in the program. Can’t wait to hear what comes from these songs.
Thanks to all who participated and showed up for these sessions with enthusiasm to create. It was great to connect with some new friends in the industry. Make sure you get out to see Kateryna, she’s a true talent!

In January 2016, I released a fun tune called “If I Won the Lotto”. Recorded with my friends out of Calgary at MCC Studios.
March of that year, we recorded this video in Nashville with the help of some great local actors. The video came out in April. My first music video!
I’m celebrating 10 years of this song!
Steve Mitchell brought the song to me and we wanted to write something different, a little bit goofy but fun and relatable. Great time bringing this to life. The band was amazing.
We also followed this single up with my first radio tour that year coordinated by Leslie Mitchell. Grateful for the experience and the help from McMillan Motor Products to get this video off the ground. Shot with one camera by one videographer, Craig Hill.

It’s a song about making amends with old friends, stopping to smell the roses, personal growth and hope for the future.
