Calem Watson - Adventurer

If I could choose to do only one thing every fall for the rest of my life it would be moose hunting. I hope to never stop learning about these animals and the beautiful north country they call home. This hunting season the land was kind to me once again, rewarding my efforts with this tasty young bull. I was not hunting from my canoe, but cutting and packing alone provided me with plenty of the type 2 fun I am always so desperately seeking. Even with my highly carnivorous diet, this moose will feed me for an entire year. From its dried meat and rendered fat I’ll make pemmican that will fuel what will be my greatest adventure ever next summer. The thrill of adventure aside, I find myself becoming more and more obsessed with the simple but rewarding act of obtaining healthy, quality food. Whether its hunted, fished, foraged or grown, it’s a truly incredible feeling to know where ones food comes from.
