Ok, let's make this unofficially official!

MeowCheck is now part of the Drawbridge HomeCheck service. Nothing about the current MeowCheck service will change, other than the transition from the Cattery website to the Drawbridge website. I will keep both up for some time, as I know we're all creatures of habit and I have many MeowCheck regulars!

If you are a regular, you'll find the new website to feature a simpler booking form. For those who are booking for the first time, you will find the booking experience to be quite personalized to your needs.

Drawbridge HomeCheck pledges to monitor your home for any concerns that may arise while you are away - whether you have cats or no cats! You may still have plants that need watering. Or a furnace you want to ensure isn't failing while you're gone. Or of course, the dreaded power outage that kills a refrigerator. We've had some wild wind storms already this Spring, and trees will do tree things to human-built dwellings!

I hope everyone has great plans for this summer, as I think it'll be a warm one.

If you see these business cards on your kitchen table (because I was there recently), be sure to pass them along to your friends who leave their homes unattended for more than 3 days at a time! Cats or no cats.

It's never a good day when you learn that a client has passed away. RIP Kitty. In the end, you could barely see me, and pretty much not hear me, but you appreciated attention and your appetite was quite good when I came around to get you set up with more food. You will be missed.

This is a fact of life working in the pet industry, just like pet ownership. You will usually outlive your companions! But we move on and remember them, always.

Having said that, I should bring up the fact that if you are a current MeowCheck client and your furry friend crosses the rainbow bridge, and you choose to become a pet-free home, it's good to know that you and I already have that rapport. As MeowCheck becomes something more than just an in-home feline visiting service, you can still use the service as new plans become available. As mentioned earlier this summer, MeowCheck will become part of a formal home check service.

The benefit of a home check service is that your homeowners or renters insurance is kept intact in the event of property damage caused by flood (pipe failure), weather, appliance failure (fridge), or break-in attempts. This service will also rearrange your curtains as you wish, turn random lights on and off if you don't have that set up as a smart home feature, and check your mail (I have a number of clients receiving packages while they're away!).

So when that sad day comes, and I would never wish it on anyone, just know that we'll still be here to oversee the safety of your castle! (is this a hint as to what the name might be of the new service?!)
