Wayne Ralph Randell (June 27th, 1950 - July 8th, 2026)
It is with profound grief, love, and immeasurable gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, and Poppy, Wayne Randell, on July 8th, 2026 in Prince George, BC, at the age of 76.
A life richly lived, Wayne was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland on June 27th, 1950 and raised by his amazing father, Lloyd, alongside his cherished brothers and sisters. Marrying the love of his life, Diane (nee Hapke) in 1983, together they would welcome his pride and joy, daughters Nicole and Natalie. An exceptional teacher, both in and out of the classroom, Wayne's sage wisdom and theatrical storytelling engaged everyone in his presence. Moving to Prince George and continuing his teaching career at PGYCC, he eventually retired from School District 57 at the CLA in 2015 into full-time Poppy mode. He spent countless hours with his treasured grandchildren, Parker and Lainey, who he always exclaimed made him "the luckiest man on face of the planet." His loving family continued to expand with the addition of his adored bonus grandchildren, Harmony and Finley, son-in-law Micha Pesta, and soon to be son-in-law, Graeme Whitehead. He will forever be fondly remembered by his close knit crew of siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Our immense grief is mirrored by the immense love we've created as a family, with Wayne at the helm.
Please join us in celebrating a life lived well on Saturday, July 18th at 2:00 pm at the Prince George Funeral Home, 1014 Douglas St, Prince George, BC.
Reception party with food and drinks to follow at The Randell Residence, 1113 Stirling Drive. Feel free to bring a 6-pack to keep Wayne's Magic Beer Fridge stocked for the night. Irma Evenson (née Penner)
December 29, 1929 – June 29, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce that Irma Evenson passed away peacefully in Prince George, BC, on June 29, 2026, at the remarkable age of 96½.
Irma (née Penner) was born in Sedalia, AB, on December 29, 1929, to Peter and Katarina (née Dueck) Penner. She grew up on a farm in Tofield, AB, and in 1944 the family moved to Chilliwack, BC. Raised alongside six siblings, she developed the deep faith, strong work ethic, and compassionate spirit that guided her throughout her life. Irma became a teacher, a profession that suited her caring nature, teaching in Pouce Coupe, North Bend, and at Cambie Secondary in Richmond. At Cambie, fellow teacher Millie introduced Irma to her brother-in-law, Warren Evenson. They married in 1963 and moved to Vancouver Island, where they ran a trucking business and welcomed three children: Leone, Duane, and Noreen.
The family lived first in the remote community of Mahatta River, BC, then in Holberg, BC, before settling in Grande Cache, AB, in 1975. There, Warren and Irma ran heavy dump trucks at the coal mine, established the family's machine and repair shop, and raised their children in a life centred on hard work, faith, and community. They retired to Prince George, BC, in 1996.
After Warren's passing in 1998, Irma remained in Prince George, close to the family she cherished. A woman of unwavering faith, Irma was an active member of her Mennonite church community. She generously volunteered as a Sunday morning greeter, faithfully worked at the annual Mennonite Fair, and found great joy in serving others. Irma also embraced adventure, travelling extensively with church groups visiting many countries around the world and creating treasured memories.
Closer to home, Irma was a devoted fan of the Prince George Cougars. As a longtime season ticket holder, she rarely missed a game and could be found walking laps around the concourse before the games. She had an exceptional green thumb, and her African violets flourished under her gentle care.
More than anything, Irma treasured her family. Irma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Warren; her parents, Peter and Katarina Penner; her brothers Henry, John, Ervin, and Vern; her sister, Kay; and her granddaughter, Ashley.
She leaves to mourn her children, Leone, Duane, and Noreen (Ron); her grandchildren Jesse (Kylie), Ryan, Russell, Dale, Megan, and Amy (Justin); her brother, Ernie; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers who provided Irma with compassionate care during her final years.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prince George Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Irma's life. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Spirit Room at the Prestige Treasure Cove Resort.

Terrence Wayne Smith
December 27th, 1949 - May 17th, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terrence Wayne Smith on May 17th, 2026.
Terry was born in 1949 to Eric and Ethel Smith in Trail, BC.
He attended UBC and was a well-respected member of the teaching community for many years in Prince George.
While very much a home body, Terry still enjoyed his travels to Hawaii. But home and his many friends were his life, and he could be found most days enjoying his group breakfasts and lunches.
Christmas was a joy for Terry. Nothing gave him more pleasure than to share his magnificent Christmas Tree with over 900 “Santa” ornaments, with his friends and their children.
Terry will be deeply missed by his Thursday coffee group and all of his many friends!
Rest in Peace, Terry

Darrin Joseph Haffner
November 1st, 1956 - May 28th, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Darrin Joseph Haffner. We are grateful to God that he passed away peacefully and serenely, snuggled by his wife Bethany Haffner (nee: Doerksen), into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus.
Darrin was a beloved and devoted husband to Bethany, a fun-loving baby brother to his siblings: Rick Haffner (Kelowna), Pat Davidoff (Nelson), Lorraine & Morley Soltys (Cranbrook), best friend to his awesome high school buddy Bill Soukoreff (Castlegar).
Darrin was pre-deceased by his Father - Joseph Haffner, Mother - Eileen Anderson (Stouchnow), and his Step-Father - Fraser Anderson.
He will be deeply missed by his furry-kid Daisy Duke, extended family including his many nieces and nephews (and great nieces and nephews), his close friends, and by the community of great people and friends at the Activity Center for Empowerment (ACE).
His ability to love people without judging them was his hallmark. His wit and ability to make people laugh with stringing together original songs in a heartbeat, brought many a belly laugh to those around him. His athletic ability and drive in not just Junior B Hockey in his hometown of Grand Forks BC, but also in securing and excelling as a Corrections Officer at Prince George Regional Correction Center (PGRCC), set him on a path to overcome many adversities in life. A two-time cancer survivor, he fought the good fight against many mental and physical health conditions, over his 60 years. A lover of playing chess (Finally got his wife to play him a game or two), called the "Convincer" by his BFF Bill, and an all-around good guy, he brought joy and peace to those he met.
We would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and health-care professionals who helped Darrin over the years - from your care and kindness, Darrin was able to strive on with dignity and revived vitality.
A Celebration of Life will be held at both the Activity Center of Empowerment (ACE) - contact ACE for more details; and at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Bentley Center on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 4:30-5:30 pm followed by a Reception. Ada Lorraine Walton
August 21, 1956 – June 1, 2026
With profound sadness, the family and friends of Ada Lorraine Walton announce her passing on June 1, 2026, following a brief but valiant battle with an aggressive cancer.
On her final day, Lorraine was surrounded by four people who loved her immensely—Steve, Jo Anne, Jane, and Judy. After spending her final three weeks at Rotary Hospice House, she passed away peacefully, with great dignity, and on her own terms.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Ash and Margaret Hudson; her brother, Bob Walton; her grandson, Miki; and, most heartbreakingly, her youngest daughter, Amanda Bylica, in 2023.
She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, loyalty, laughter, and unmistakable smile. Left to cherish her memory is Steve Bylica, her spouse, former spouse, and the father of her younger children—a relationship that defied simple labels but remained rooted in love and family. She is also survived by her son, Kyle Bylica (Kayla); her daughter, Karli Stohl (Dan); grandsons Eric and Justus; and the shining light of her life, her granddaughter Diamond Bylica, daughter of Amanda.
Lorraine will also be deeply missed by her extended family, including Kim and Dean Appleton, Tami Morris and Torre Funk, and their boys, who shared many treasured family gatherings with her over the years.
Her beloved dog, Darbi, has found a loving home with one of Lorraine's dearest friends, Jane Young.
Lorraine formed lasting friendships everywhere she went. Her fellow members of the drumming group at Spruce Capital Seniors will keep her memory alive, as will the many coworkers and friends she made throughout her career at places including CableVision, M&M Meats, FortisBC, and beyond.
Her circle of friends was vast and varied, spanning all walks of life. In her final weeks, the depth of those friendships was especially evident. Jo Anne Barnhill, a lifelong friend from their childhood days in Vancouver, remained steadfastly by her side, while Judy Demman (Monte Chew), Terry Dunkley, and many others visited often, offering comfort, companionship, and love.
To say Lorraine will be missed is an understatement. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void, and countless hearts are grieving the loss of a truly remarkable woman.
Those wishing to pay their final respects are invited to a viewing on Thursday, June 4, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Prince George Funeral Service, located at the corner of 10th Avenue and Douglas Street.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer, with details to be announced.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rotary Hospice House for their compassionate care and support during Lorraine's final days.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
