🏕️ 100+ kids from 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 and 𝗦𝘁. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆’𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 and the Gateway Neighbourhood are going to camp for free this summer!!
49 camp sponsorships were handed out last weekend, 51 camp sponsorships remain, and will be released on a first-come, first-served basis on from 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturday 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟳 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵. If you’re connected to families from these schools and community, we’d love your help spreading the word.
What an amazing example of community support. Local businesses and churches have come together to raise more than $55,000, opening the door for kids to experience a full week of camp at no cost to their families.

We had an absolutely beautiful day of worshiping together with neighbours this morning and afternoon. A big thanks to Gateway Church, to MCC, to pastor Greg for bringing the Word, to Tim and Moira for sharing testimony and to all of our neighbours who showed up to enjoy food, fun, worship and fellowship together. #praisethelord #heisgood

Today marks the beginning of the season of Lent. A time of 40 days (not including Sundays) leading up to Easter. It is traditionally a season of fasting that encourages participants to be deeply aware of their dependence on God. Fasting is more than simply “giving something up,” it also includes adding in more intentional moments of prayer, meditation and reflection on God’s presence and provision.
Consider what habits or practices you have become rooted in that perhaps hold you back from moments that could be spent in Scripture, prayer or meditation. Maybe it’s morning check ins on Social media? Perhaps evening TV shows as a decompressing time? Or needing to keep up with all the sports leagues and scores? What might it look like to give these habits up and intentionally replace them with moments of prayer, Scripture reading and reflection? Could you give them up from now until Easter?

*fun fact: Sundays throughout the season of Lent were considered feast days where a temporary reprieve from the fast could be taken. If you’re giving something up for Lent consider what a “feast” day might look like once a week.
