We had a successful trial weekend last weekend at the Sturgeon Schutzhund club in Edmonton, Alberta!
“Audi” is my 18mos female GSD and she came home with her BH-VT after putting together a really pretty routine for me.
The BH is an obedience & temperament test needed in order to compete in the 3 phase sport of IGP (tracking, obedience and protection).
It consists of on and off leash heeling in a specific pattern as well as through a group of people, a sit and down in motion, a recall, and then a long down across the field while the second dog you share the field with performs their full routine.
The temperament test has them exposed to vehicles, bicycles, strangers and other dogs while in hand but also again while separated from their owner.
Can’t wait to trial in the spring for our IGP 1 in all 3 phases!
