“They are only a newborn for 8 weeks”
When it’s your last baby… hearing that hurts.
Because every moment suddenly feels heavier,
every squeak, every chest nap, every tiny stretch. You’re not just soaking it in… you’re grieving it as it’s happening.
You know how fast this part goes.
And this time, there’s no “next one.”
No do overs.
No “I’ll slow down with the next baby.”
This is your last newborn.
Your last first everything.
So when people say “enjoy it, it goes fast,” it doesn’t feel comforting, it feels like pressure.
But here’s what I remind myself,
I can’t freeze time… but I can be here.
Right now.
Present.
Loving this little one with everything I have.
