KODIKO Custom Rods

Latest Build off the bench. CTS 13' 8wt Spey Affinity SK in the Panther paint finish (the metallic flake really pops in the sunlight). Customer wanted a 'Fall' themed build to match with a Loop COTW Classic in 'Fall Orange', thinking the orange dyed maple burl reel seat and grip accents will go nicely. 5 colour thread fade wraps on the ferrule and signature wraps adds to the 'fall' theme.

Was given the challenge of restoring this Bamboo rod. These rods were mass produced after WW2 and were very commonly found at most hardware/sporting goods stores. This one was in decent shape but still required some TLC. A couple sections were delaminating, split ferrules, and missing guides. Decided to go with a modern guide spacing and sizes so this rod could be fished as either a fly rod set up or casting rod set up. Cleaned up the rod case, repaired a couple cracks, and felt lined the box to give it some 'class'.

One of my favorite parts of rod building, watching the cork and wood come to life.
