⛵ Derelict Vessel Removal – F***y Bay Harbour

We recently completed the removal of a derelict sailboat in F***y Bay Harbour after the Harbour Authority applied to have it removed and properly disposed of.

Our team safely towed the vessel from F***y Bay to Texada Boat Yard, where they will dismantle and responsibly disposed of the vessel.

Derelict vessels pose navigation hazards and environmental risks, so it’s always rewarding to help keep our harbours safe and clean.

If you’re a harbour authority or marina needing assistance with vessel removals or any additional dive services, feel free to reach out!

🌊 Grateful for our clients!

We feel lucky to work with such amazing people along the BC coast, and it means a lot when our crew’s efforts are appreciated. Here’s what a few of our clients have shared:

🐋 Incredible sights while on the job!

During a recent dive survey at an oyster farm in Malaspina Inlet, our team was lucky enough to spot humpback whales up close. These gentle giants reminded us why we love working on the BC coast every day.

Check out these amazing moments captured on video! 🎥

⚓️🚤 The Kathron is shipshape and ready for duty!

Our workboat, the Kathron, just wrapped up a round of upgrades to keep her seaworthy and tough for the demanding work we do on the coast:

🔹 Brand-new propeller shaft for smooth and reliable power
🔹 Upgraded bolt-on zincs so divers can swap them out quickly and keep corrosion at bay
🔹 Sturdy new rails and a starboard-side gate for safer deck operations
🔹 Solid hull repairs to keep her sound below the waterline
🔹 Reinforced steering ram brackets for dependable handling
🔹 A full coat of fresh marine paint to protect her from the elements

With these improvements, the Kathron is ready to take on another season of dive support, salvage, and heavy work along our coastlines. 🌊💪

📸 Big thanks to our diver Tawny .flowers for snapping photos of the upgrades!

⚓ Dive Vessel Upgrade -Update 🛠️

The Kathron is getting some major improvements to better support our crew and clients:

🔧 Cutting off and replacing stern rails with new welded rails, a wide gate, and a fold-down diver ladder for safer, easier access.
⚙️ Installing a new shaft, bearings, and stuffing box to keep us running smooth.
🎨 Fresh bottom paint, topside paint, and deck coating for protection and longevity.
⚡ Switching to bolt-on zincs, making future changes quicker and diver-friendly.
💨 Planning for a larger breathing air compressor, K-bottles for storage, and hot water with a shower head to keep divers comfortable on longer work trips.

Big upgrades are underway — and we’re excited to have her back in the water soon, stronger and more diver-ready than ever!
