I am a mother of 2 adult sons, a retired special education teacher, realtor, and entrepreneur. As a champion for equality, I have sat on several committees and boards in our community, the schools I taught at and my union to ensure equity and justice for all. My passion is helping people especially children and the aging to navigate through the ever-changing bureau
cratic systems. In my spare time, you will find me walking the paths in Port Hope, tending to my garden, reading a book on my porch and most importantly spending time with family and friends. If you see me, please stop and say hello! My career has taken me across the world. As a new Canadian in the 1970's I worked for the Bank of Montreal as put myself through post-secondary education. In addition to my teaching career, I was the founder of The Mango Table Caribbean Bulk Food Store and for over 21 years I have been the owner operator of Connect ag Realty Inc. My leadership style is to listen and hear anyone who have a suggestion or concern. I know that not all things can be solved; but I believe all things can be taken into consideration to build a beneficial working and result oriented relationship and representation for the residents of Port Hope at the County and Provincial and federal levels of Government. Being of service to ones community is very important. Throughout the years I have committed time to a number of different organization. From being a director at my community church for the children outreach program in at- risk communities, Social director of the Markham Caribbean Association, and volunteering in orphanages in Thailand teaching English to the children. My motto is “laughter is the best medicine and nothing last forever”. There is a reason I chose Port Hope to plant my family’s roots. Our town is a beautiful place to raise a family, to retire and stay. Over the last few years, we have all seen a migration of people from all of Ontario come to our town and decide to place roots. Because Port Hope is a place to stay.
