THEY ARE IN!

We are pooped haha. This was quite a project to undertake this week with everything else going on with the farm, barn build, Canada Day week, etc...

But it's done! The babies are split into 2 groups of 34 (for now) and they're chillin! 😍 Look how much they've grown!

My dad and I worked hard on the new quail baby brooder stacker today. Tomorrow we will hopefully finish it up and get the 68 babies into these cages and out of the cramped guinea pig cage. They grow SO fast!!

This brooder will have four 24x36 cages with pull out trays for easy clean ups, heat lamps and someday auto waterers. Looking forward to no more stinky shavings. Birds are sooooo 🤢 but guys I love my quail babies so much!

These boys are hard workers on the farm, when we bought this acreage is was HEAVILY neglected and overrun by rodents.

The 2 boys on the left (Luca & Baymax) are brothers and we got them from a local farm, born in a barn in 2023 and raised hunting with their mama. They are natural hunters and have taken down a few small birds along with thousands of mice. These 2 are the reason my rabbitry is cat free, they are so intense they stress my mama rabbits out. Regardless of their hunting instincts they are lover boys and will purr and knead you until you bleed if you're not wearing sleeves 😂

Vader is on the right. He randomly showed up in January this year, likely dumped by someone who didn't want him anymore. We attempted to find his owners with no luck, so he was neutered and now lives here. The vet guessed he was about 8 months old when he arrived. He is SUCH a sweet boy. He is usually by my feet and will follow anyone around the entire farm, even out into the cow fields. He loves love and head butts. 😍

We love our basic brown tabbies, they're not only family but a functional part of the ecosystem here at Breza.

Breza's Harleen is 👀🏡

Harleen is 4 months old, weighs 6lb 6oz. I've been growing her out but she's a little long for my preference.

Her genotype is aaBbC_ddE_

She is out of a Penney Rex buck and a Sunshine's doe. Carrying chocolate and likely rew.
