The Waring House has been a sponsor of the PEC Studio Tour for over two decades! We couldn’t be happier to have them as our Diamond Sponsor for our 32nd annual PEC Studio Tour.

The Waring House has been an amazing host for many PEC Studio Tour events over the years, including Preview Shows, Christmas Shows, annual general meetings, and it has also acted as the Info Centre for the Studio Tour. The Waring House also helps us promote the Studio Tour with a large promotional sign on their property.

Owners Norah and Chris Rogers have wonderfully supportive staff, and we are always so grateful for their ongoing support of the Tour and local artists and artisans. Stop by their dining room and their Barley Room Pub for a meal or drinks (or maybe some trivia!), and be sure to check out their ongoing live music series. Located at 395 Sandy Hook Road (in Picton at the Roundabout).

On behalf of all of the Studio Tour artists and volunteers, we’re incredibly thankful for The Waring House’s ongoing support of this beloved County event, and all their support of the arts in Prince Edward County for decades.

🎨 Meet printmaker and painter Lucy Sterezylo at stop no. 38 on this year’s PEC Studio Tour!

Her first time on the Studio Tour, Lucy invites tour-goers to take a break from the world and explore the process of printmaking in her Picton-based studio, stareatjello Paper & Press.

Lucy explores the everyday through a variety of media including letterpress printing, intaglio and lino printmaking, as well as gouache painting. Working predominantly on paper with an emphasis on the natural world, flora, fauna and fungi often serve as the subjects of her pieces.

Lucy’s pieces are whimsical, filled with a sense of wonder and playfulness, yet grounded in a deep reverence for nature. “The sounds of spring birds arriving back, combined with distant holiday memories, set a path for my most recent body of work,” she says, “a series of mixed media paintings of screaming birds on tiled backgrounds.”

“With all that is going on in the current landscape it is easy to become overwhelmed and shut down. In my work, as I navigate how to contribute to a more just, inclusive and kind world, I seek to capture the everyday beauty and tiny glimpses of joy and hope. I create these paintings with the intent of providing the viewer some respite from the heaviness of the world around them.”
