Rooted Stone Acres
We’re mostly self-taught and land-led, growing food, raising animals, and building rhythms as we listen, adapt, and grow.

It’s official. The deposit has been paid and the pickup date has been set. We are bringing these 3 sweet girls home in June!
#8 this is her first freshening and the little heifer calf is hers
The other girl is a yearling and will be bred this year 🥰
All Dexters. So excited!
Kangals. The lions of the k9 kingdom. They have the strongest bite force of all dogs and it’s as strong as lions. This right here is why we feel extremely safe up here in the mountains amongst the bears, cougars and coyotes.
We were leaving home and saw the bears in the field. I told my husband to pull over and wait for our dogs to catch their scent. Sure enough Atlas took lead and the bears stood no chance. It didn’t take long for the others to follow behind him. These predators stand no chance against our pack of kangals. 💪🏽
We were also recently told that our neighbor’s who have a ranch have video footage of our dogs sleeping with their cattle and killing coyotes. These guys impress me so much.

Finally home with our 40 Mistral Gris chicks 💪🏽 first time doing meat birds. Wish us luck!
Pro tip. Don’t rest the bottle against your stomach to free up one hand and get a video.
Lesson learned 😂
Watching kids build confidence around horses is such a beautiful thing. 🤎
There’s something powerful about learning patience, responsibility, gentleness, and trust through horsemanship. So proud of Jax and grateful for Riding 4 Life Equine Enterprises that helps kids grow through connection with animals and the land. 🐴✨

Yesterday our youngest daughter was the first of the family to get a lesson from Riding 4 Life Equine Enterprises’s new spot up here at Rooted Stone Acres.
They have done an impressive job getting the space ready and I’m so excited to see how everything unfolds.
