Did you know we offer... Serious Sofas, Drapery, Window Shades, Wall Coverings, Area Rugs and Custom Upholstery and Furniture. Haute House Design is a small studio brought to life by Nadine Alleyn during a period of extreme passion for all things “House and Design”. Haute House is an interesting mix of materials , including furniture, textiles, wallpaper, drapery hardware, area rugs and vintage objects of desire!
The dilemma: Our light sensitive clients wanted as much light blocked as possible in a room with floor to ceiling windows and a panoramic view.
To help create dark and cozy mornings we came up with a few custom solutions.

1. We decided to tailor the draperies to “Trouser Length”, which is typically 1- 2” longer than the finished floor, this allows as much light as possible to be block along the base.
2. The height of the drapery was then adjusted by hand to just delicately skim the ceiling for maximum coverage at the top.
3. A curve hardware system was designed to allow the drapery, (and yes there was A LOT!) to travel the entire perimeter of the room and then stack 100% of the fabric completely off the windows for a spectacular and unobstructed view during the day.

The Result: Delicious velvet drapery- creatively tailored for cozy vibes!

Blindspace is new to North America…if you are an architect, contractor, designer or home owner who loves the idea of hiding your blind and drapery hardware in the ceiling- this is the best ! It is designed to disappear. This enclosure system assists the finishing carpenter in making perfect pockets- even has a hinged door for easy access to wiring, brackets etc.
